I understand that during hot weather, most skin types tend to react badly. As a person with oily skin, I often get scared of going into the sun because my face gets even oilier, and using sunscreen can be daunting. After some research on how to help my skin, I’d love to share these tips with my lovely readers. Do well to read and enjoy.

• Stay Hydrated: During the summer or hot weather, you should hydrate your skin inside and out. Drink enough water and use products containing ceramides, hyaluronic acid, lipids, and fatty acids. Hydration makes your skin softer and less dry, and it will also help improve its elasticity, reducing the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines. Hydration helps control oil production, reducing the risk of breakouts. If your skin is dehydrated, it can appear flaky, dull, and dry, and it’s more prone to sunburn and other forms of UV damage. This tip is essential, especially if you, like me, are scared of getting more oily during hot weather. Make sure you are well hydrated.

• Limit Excessive Sun Exposure/Stay in the Shade: During hot weather, you should avoid too much sun exposure to protect your skin. This helps create more youthful skin and healthier hair. The sun emits ultraviolet rays, which can both help and harm us. Effects of sun exposure include wrinkles, sunburn, skin cancer, premature aging, and sagging skin. Remember to avoid prolonged time in the sun to help your skin!

• Use Sunscreen: Sunscreen is very vital to the skin. It helps protect the skin with many benefits, including improving skin texture, preventing premature aging like wrinkles, reducing hyperpigmentation, sunspots, and melasma, lowering skin cancer risk, and providing protection from UV rays. Using sunscreen during this time is very important. I know it might be challenging at times, especially for oily skin girls like me, but knowing the risks and benefits can be a source of motivation for you.

• Wear Sunglasses: Apart from being a fashion accessory that accentuates our outfits, sunglasses have other benefits, including protection from harmful UV rays, reducing eye strain, and protecting the eyes from debris. Sunglasses minimize the risk of eye conditions and can protect the skin around the eyes, reducing the risk of wrinkles and other signs of premature aging. This tip will surely help keep your eyes safe and healthy, and don't forget that sunglasses are also a fashion accessory, so it's a plus for you.

• Moisturize Your Skin: Moisturizer helps seal the skin, locking in moisture and nutrients. It helps prevent dryness and acts as a protective barrier for your skin, keeping it hydrated and healthy. Sometimes, we get scared of using moisturizer because of the hot weather, but it's important to note that it's very vital to use it, as it helps retain moisture in the skin. Opt for a suitable moisturizer for your skin type.
